TikTok for Android TV 12.3.2.1

TikTok for Android TV 12.3.2.1 is the TV version of TikTok from TikTok Pte. Ltd., made for smart TVs and set-top boxes running Android TV or Google TV. It shows short videos in a layout that works with a remote control, so you can watch your feed or popular clips on a large screen. On a compatible TV you can download TikTok for Android TV from the TV's built-in Google Play store.

Quick facts

• Version: 12.3.2.1
• Developer: TikTok Pte. Ltd.
• Platform: Android TV and Google TV devices
• Licence: free
• Size: about 50.15 MB according to catalogue data

How it differs from the phone app

The TV app is built for watching, not creating. Videos fill the screen, and you move through them with the arrow keys of the remote: next, previous, like, open comments or go to a creator's profile. Categories and a search function help you find content without typing much, which is tedious on a remote anyway. You cannot record or edit videos on the TV, and messaging is left to the phone. For many households the TV app turns TikTok into something to watch together, such as cooking clips, comedy or travel videos, rather than scrolling alone. Because the TV is a shared device, it is worth thinking about which account is signed in and what the feed shows to others in the room.

Guide: install and sign in

1. On your Android TV or Google TV device, open Google Play and search for TikTok.
2. Check that the publisher is TikTok Pte. Ltd. and install the app.
3. Open it and choose to sign in; many TV apps show a code or QR code that you confirm on your phone, which saves typing passwords with the remote.
4. Browse without signing in if you only want to watch popular videos.
5. Adjust the playback and account settings to suit your household.

Family settings

• Use a separate account or no account on a TV that children use.
• Turn on restricted content options in the account settings.
• Sign out on shared TVs in holiday rentals or hotels.

Safety

Install the app only from the store on your TV. Sideloaded TikTok APKs from unknown sites can contain malware, and a TV box is connected to your home network like any computer. We have no separate official download link for this TV app, so the store on the device is the right place to get it.
